I am a Cloud Solution Architect in Nashville where I help companies adopt Azure the right way.
I have been an Azure specialist since before it was called Azure! (~2007). I discovered it back when I was working for Microsoft as a Principal Architect Evangelist. In that role, I was one of only 24 identified Azure Subject Matter Experts in all of Microsoft when it was launched in 2010.
After leaving Microsoft I was hired as an Architecture Consultant by the Microsoft Azure Product Team through a third-party to provide Architecture and Technical Support for Microsoft customers and partners.
Over several years I have been working with companies to help them design and build applications and infrastructures for public and private clouds, mostly with Microsoft Azure
I frequently present cloud-related topics at local conferences and community events and have presented on cloud strategy and implementation to technical decision makers at many companies. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 I presented sessions on: Patterns for Cloud Computing at Cloud Expo in New York. More recently I have presented “Demystifying the Cloud” presentations to multiple CIO groups in multiple cities.
I have also published several white papers, books and magazine articles on Microsoft technology. In addition I am the founder and/or past leader of several user groups such as the New York Windows Azure Users Group, the New York .NET Developers Group, the New York Enterprise Windows Users Group and the New York Chapter of the International Association of Software Architects. I am currently the leader of the Nashville Microsoft Azure Users Group.
